OneAquaHealth consortium meeting in Oslo

Jun 4, 2024

The OneAquaHealth Consortium met in Oslo to review the latest progress in the project’s research activities focused on ecological, biological and human health indicators linked to urban freshwater ecosystems.

During the meeting, partners discussed ongoing efforts to assess, predict and strengthen ecosystem resilience in the context of increasing urbanisation pressures and climate change. By integrating expertise from environmental science, public health and digital innovation, the consortium continues to develop more holistic approaches to environmental monitoring and urban sustainability.

A key focus of the discussions was the integration of citizen science activities, geospatial technologies and on-site data collection from urban streams. These datasets are helping build advanced environmental surveillance systems capable of supporting predictive modelling and interactive city dashboards for evidence-based decision-making.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of collaboration across disciplines and sectors to better understand the complex relationship between ecosystem integrity, biodiversity and human wellbeing.

Through these activities, the OneAquaHealth project continues to contribute to the development of innovative tools and strategies aimed at creating healthier and more resilient urban environments.
