The PROMS Initiative (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) is a collaborative, multi-stakeholder effort aimed at advancing the integration of patients’ voices into healthcare decision-making, research, and innovation across Europe. At its core, the initiative seeks to promote the systematic collection and use of data directly reported by patients, regarding their health status, quality of life, treatment satisfaction, and functional outcomes.
PROMS is grounded in the belief that healthcare systems must go beyond clinical indicators to fully understand the real-world impact of diseases and treatments on individuals’ daily lives. By capturing this information through scientifically validated and meaningful tools, PROMS helps ensure that health policies, research agendas, and care pathways are more patient-centred, relevant, and responsive.
The initiative involves a wide range of actors—including patients and caregivers, medical professionals, researchers, policymakers, and digital health innovators—who work together to define standards, share best practices, and foster the widespread adoption of PROMs in clinical care, registries, and health research projects.
One of the key objectives of PROMS is to contribute to a European framework for responsible and inclusive innovation in brain health, where the evaluation of outcomes includes what matters most to patients living with neurological and chronic conditions. This aligns with the broader movement towards value-based healthcare, where success is measured not only by survival or clinical endpoints, but by improvements in patients’ well-being, independence, and participation in society.
By supporting education, collaboration, and capacity building across sectors, the PROMS Initiative acts as a catalyst for change—bridging the gap between patient experience and evidence-based decision-making, and reinforcing the role of patients as active partners in their care and in shaping the future of health research.

As the partner in charge of communication, WISE ANGLE is responsible for ensuring that the objectives, progress, and outcomes of the initiative are effectively shared with relevant stakeholders, including policymakers, healthcare professionals, patient organisations, academic institutions, and the broader public. This involves the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication strategy, including the production of engaging content, management of digital channels, coordination of public events, and the promotion of results through various media platforms.
In parallel, WISE ANGLE supports the project’s core coordination team by contributing to the day-to-day management and strategic planning of activities, facilitating internal communication across partners, and ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of outputs. This includes administrative assistance, reporting support, and liaison with key stakeholders to strengthen the operational cohesion of the initiative.
Drawing on its multidisciplinary expertise in public policy, health innovation, and stakeholder engagement, WISE ANGLE brings added value to the initiative by promoting visibility, knowledge exchange, and long-term impact—ensuring that the voice of patients and the outcomes of PROMS are widely recognised and integrated into future health research and policy agendas.
